I think this photo was shot sometime in the 1960's.

I don't care too much for this week's Classic Photo. Technically there's nothing to really like. 1. Make bank loans harder to get.

2. Raise their taxes.

Politics - The Do Nothing Congress

The Do Nothing Congress is still doing nothing.

People seem to forget that the for the last two years of the Bush Administration, Congress was controlled by the Democrats. Yup, it's true. They ran on the ticket of "Change." Stop the spending." "Stop the War." "Elect us and we'll stop the funding for the War." Well, they got elected, took control of Congress and... well... nothing! They did nothing! - Except roll over, go belly up, and continue to let the GOP run things. 

Side note: Just in case anybody hasn't noticed - The Dems have now been in control of Congress for almost three years and the war is still going on, still being funded, and... Going off on a tangent here... The Democrats and our Commander in Chief (with no Military experience what-so-ever) would not even admit that the surge in troops worked. Doh! So now we are pulling American troops out of Iraqi cities and the violence is again increasing. Hmmm... who would have thought that? Maybe we should pull more troops out and see if that quells the violence even more. Ok... I'm done with this tangent and will save it for another post.

Another side note: Has anybody noticed that economy didn't begin to tank until the last two years of the Bush Administration? Hmmm... I wonder if there's some type of correlation with that and the Dems taking over Congress? Naaa, couldn't be... Could it? But that thought is for another post as well.

Back to the Do Nothing Congress...

The Democrats want Health Care Reform. They have control of Congress. They have the votes to pass legislation. They keep threatening to use their majority to get things done. And they keep saying to the Republicans "We're going to do it with or without you. Really we are! Just watch us. Yup, we are. We want bipartisan support, but don't make us do it without you. We're going to get it done. Yup. Just wait, we will."

BLAH, BLAH, BLAH. Enough already.

Democrats - you have the majority so shut the fuck up, grow some stones and just get something done.

Or are you just too scared to actually make a stand and go it alone because when the Health Care Reform becomes an over-bloated and expensive, Government run, money-sucking failure of a programme that's bogged down in bureaucratic red tape, with little or no quality Health Care Services and little or no relief from Health Care Costs (not to mention being a burden to the American Taxpayer), there's not going to be any Republicans to blame - just yourselves?

As my dad (and plenty of other dads) have always said - "Either shit or get off the pot!"

I don't care too much for this week's Antique Photo. Technically there is absolutely nothing to like about it. The Economy - Health Care Fatties

OMG! People are so FAT! Yeah, yeah, yeah... I know, there are some people with actual medical conditions that causes their obesity. Let me make this clear - I'm not talking about them! I am talking about the people that eat way too much bad food and do not get enough physical activity.

So let me begin again...

OMFG! People are so FUCKING FAT! And everybody wonders why the cost of health care is so much? Well, fatness is not the only reason but it is a HUGE (pun intended) reason.

People do not take care of themselves, they eat the wrong food, they eat too much of the wrong food, and they don't get nearly enough physical activity. And because of this they are in poor health. And because they are in poor health, the cost of taking care of these (to put it nicely) overweight people is enormous (pun intended).

I love it when the News Media shows all the Fatty McFat Fats being led by their huge bellies as they leave their factory jobs at the end of the day. Looks like a herd of out-of-breath Weebles wobbling toward the feeding trough. And actually, it's not funny at all - it is very sad. 

Why don't American employers follow the lead of their Japanese counter-parts where employees have to exercise, be physically fit, and be within a certain weight range? I think that is would make a hell of a lot of sense.

1. People would be healthier.

2. Health care costs would go down.

And yes, it is that simple - Health care costs go down if you eat right and exercise. Hmmm... who would have thought that?

The Economy - The Chevy Volt - Way to Go!
