The Economy - Prices - Goods - Services - Porn

The biggest problem with the economy is that prices are just too damn high; everything costs too much and I am really disgusted that nobody seems to be addressing THAT part of the problem.

Why is there a housing crunch? Wait a sec... I am not going to talk about the banking portion of that equation... If banks don't lower their rates and if they don't want to give out loans then fuck 'em, they can go out of business for all I care - making room for some other bank with better business practices that can easily take their place without trying to gouge a customer into poverty. But I digress... The biggest problem with the housing crunch is that builders (and banks) got greedy, overbuilt, and charged way too much for cookie-cutter houses to people who could not afford them in the first place. Arg, I am digressing a lot... The whole point I am making here is that the rental, leased, or purchase price of homes, business property, and real estate is extremely overpriced.

The news media keeps making a big deal out of how the housing prices are falling, but have they actually gone out and LOOKED at home prices? Rhetorical question... I live (and rent) in Southern California (where, by the way, rents are still outrageous) and I want to buy a house. I see lots of houses for sale with notices that say price reduced. I'll call on these houses and the sellers are out of their mind - still asking way too much. As an example a two bedroom, one bath house in Burbank is going for $650.000.00. And that is with the price reduced. And it isn't even that great of a house. Check this - On a 30 year loan at 5% interest that's almost $5,000.00 a month. After 30 years of payments you have paid more in interest ($670,000.00) than you did for the house itself; finally ending with total payments of $1,600,000.00 on a 650K house. What average Joe can afford that!?! Let's get back into reality here and get prices back down to a realistic and affordable level.

When gas prices jumped last year (for no real reason) to over $4.50 a gallon, food prices shot up. Now that gas is back down to what we are made to believe is a good price of only $2.50 a gallon - food prices are still high and going higher. 

The cost of fuel for shipping is down. Why haven't food prices gone down? Because, IMHO, box-superstores are fucking greedy; and they spend tonnes on advertisements trying to convince the consumer that they have great deals and low prices on their items. So, hoping to save money, you go to the store and yeah, one or two items are on sale, but it is usually crap that you don't want or need, and everything else is still just too expensive. I mean come on... $5.00 for a small bag of lettuce. $5.00 for a small (and getting smaller) box of cereal. $5.00 for a gallon of milk. One bag of groceries can easily exceed $50.00. What average Joe can afford that!?! Let's get back into reality here and get prices back down to a realistic and affordable level.

What prices have gone down? None that I can think of. My health insurance (which, thank God, I have never had to use) keeps going up. My rent keeps going up. My utility bills keep going up. My gym membership keeps going up (so I canceled it). Taxes keep going up. My cable bill keeps going up. My car insurance (which, thank God, I have never had to use) has not gone down. Models that I want to hire have raised their prices (so I don't hire them). My dentist raised her prices (I'm looking for a new dentist). My massage therapists' (both happy ending and legit) have raised their prices. Entertainment prices have not gone down - as a matter of fact, they along with everything else, are going up.

Oh yeah, it's so great when a movie star gets 20 million for a movie or a sports player gets a multi-million dollar contract - but who pays for that? We do. The consumer pays and pays and pays. How much does it cost to take your family to a ball game or to a theme park or even to a movie? Think about that the next time you get all excited that the star of the movie made 20 million or that the ball player makes millions and millions. No, don't get me wrong... I think it's great if somebody can make good money. But on the other hand, how many tickets have to be sold and at what price just to pay that one person's salary? Too many and too much! And again I ask you... What average Joe can afford all of this!?! Let's get back into reality here and get prices (and wages) back down to a realistic and affordable level.

I took my g/f to the movies the other day... First time I'd gone to a theatre in almost two years... and it's cost $31.00! $31.00 for two movie tickets! Popcorn, snacks, and drinks were all extra and all extremely overpriced. Are they out of their fucking minds?!!! So needless to say, I won't be going to the movies again any time soon.

Another friend of mine took me out to eat (her treat) at a fairly nice restaurant last night. I had a steak. $34.00! $34.00 for one steak! Veggies, salad, drinks, and dessert were all a la cart. Are they out of their fucking minds?!!! So needless to say, I won't be going out to eat again any time soon.

Starbucks Vs McDonalds. I love my Starbucks coffee. I do. But it is too fucking expensive and I have all but stopped going to Starbucks. Why should I pay $5.00 for a Venti (Large) iced-coffee when I can go to McDonalds and get an even larger iced-coffee for $2.25? And surprisingly, the coffee at McDonalds is really good and I have now become a loyal McDonalds coffee drinker.

Oh... so here's a good business practice (sarcasm)... I understand that sales are down at Starbucks. Duh!. Why? Because people cannot afford a $5.00 cup of coffee. So, instead of lowering the price of their coffee (to keep customers coming in), Starbucks is closing stores to cut overhead. Hmmm - that makes sense (sarcasm again).

What makes (common) sense to me is that... If your price is lower you will get more customers, and if you get more customers, you will make more money, and if you make more money, you can keep your stores open, and if you keep your stores open, you can keep people employed, and if people are employed, they will buy your product (if they can afford it), and if they buy your product, you stay in business, and if you stay in business, the economy keeps moving.

It's so simple! Lower your fucking prices!

These lower prices should go for everything; houses, cars, movies, gas, food, entertainment, insurance, utilities, coffee, and yes PORN. Which brings me why this rant is posted here on Sex Blogger. Porn is cheap and I don't mean that in a negative way. Porn is inexpensive, and dollar for dollar, it's probably one of the best entertainment values around. I mean, come on... One of my affiliates offers a membership for just $3.95. Another offers a 90 day membership for $19.95. And another even offers a yearly membership for $19.95. And these affiliates offer unlimited access to thousands of adult movies. I can not think of anything else that actually offers this great of a deal.

Hitler's Birthday

Adolf Hitler is speeding through Germany with his chauffeur at the wheel on his way to an important address. All the way to the address the chauffeur, who is a fairly good-hearted person despite his employer, is worried about the family who owned the pig and wondered how they'd react to discovering the pig, so when they arrived he asked Hitler whether he shouldn't drive back to the farm and let them know what happened. Hitler agrees before hurrying to the podium, and the Chauffeur hurries back down the road. Four hours later, stumbling down the road, his arms full of sausage and bread and his breath smelling of liquor. Hitler in a rage demands to know what has happened to him, and the chauffeur explains, "I did what I thought was right. I went to the farm where I killed the pig. When I went and knocked on the door and gave them the news, they gave me this sausage and bread, fed me the best ale I've ever tasted and let me have their way with their beautiful nubile young daughter and then sent me on my way." Adolf seemed confused by this and asks his chauffeur, "well what exactly did you tell them?" To which the chauffeur replied "I really can't understand it either, all I did was tell them "I'm Hitler's Chauffeur, and I killed the pig."

I think this photo was probably done sometime in the early 1960's.

Technically there is nothing to this pic; no fancy lighting, no contrast, no shadows, no art, no nothing. As a matter of fact it is a pretty bad photo; especially the way the model's hair just disappears into the background. It would have been so easy for the photographer to remedy that by putting just a little rim light on the model or having just a little light hitting the background. It's just sloppy photography if you ask me. Are you asking? Doesn't matter, I'm telling anyway. The model's pose is so/so, nothing new, but not horrible. I'm not quite sure what the photographer was going for here - probably the whole nature / cave women thing.
